Scammed By A Houston Texas Auto Insurance Agent
Reader’s Question:
I have friend who had been scammed by a fake Houston Texas auto insurance agent, how can I prevent it from happening to me as well?
John
Hi John, I am so sorry to hear about what happened to your friend. It is really sad that there are people like that, taking advantage of other people’s weaknesses. Well, there is really nothing we can do about that kind of behavior but you can certainly prevent that from happening to you as well. There are a lot of Houston Texas Auto Insurance agents in your place and sometimes it is very hard to identify which ones are true and which ones are not, especially if their offer is so low that you would like to get a pen and sign up a check right at that moment. However, before you get too excited there are a couple of precautions you might want to know first.
When you are approached by a Houston Texas auto Insurance agent over the phone or even face to face the first thing to remember is never ever give out important information like bank accounts or credit cards. Ask first some questions about their company, why the lower rates, etc. Another important thing to check is if their company is licensed with Texas Department of Insurance, well, if they are there is a good chance that this company is legit. However, do not stop there, because the company may be legit but the agent is probably not. Ask a couple of questions first like his complete name, position, if you are talking to him face to face, ask for an ID and important numbers to call. Then call the company and inquire if that person is really their employee, if he is, check his position in the company if he is allowed to sell Houston Texas auto insurance.
When you have checked everything and all looks good, then you can now sign up for their insurance and enjoy all the lower rates they offer.
